- CP 2.2b
- Created 2-12-93 12:00 AM
-
- Fixes and Improvements to 2.2(a)
-
- o Expanded AreaFix requests to 35 character area names.
- This will support the longer Internet area names.
- o Fixed Area Editor when the E_MAIL area was edited.
- E_MAIL would not load and display first, as of 2-11
- this was fixed.
- o Expanded Boss Files. Boss now supports phone numbers up
- to 40 characters. This was added to support phone card
- calling. Note: CP supplies up to 40 characters. Whether
- or not the mailers available can handle these long number
- strings is unknown?
-
- Note: Existing Boss files are re-mapped on the fly to the
- new structure (to allow for the expanded phone #). If you
- experience problems loading your boss files, go into the
- UBA folder and delete all BOSS files - let CP rebuild them
- from ground zero.
-
-
- -------------------
-
- CP 2.2 12/31/92 Release Version
-
- o QWK (areas) editor Fix...
- o Added better support for formula-1 when dealing with multiple bosses.
- o New check box under System/Path Information dialog. Formula-1
-
- o Formula-1 works very well with CP as long as you are running only one
- boss. If you are a running multiple boss system and running Formula-1
- check this box. What this will do is cause CP to scan and update any
- of the CFG lines in the Formula1 Pref file that need to be updated
- with the new boss information. NOTE: CP does not add to this CFG
- list it will only modify what is there. So you still need to configure
- formula-1 at least once through the F1-Setup application. This will
- change with CP 3.0. This is just a temporary solution to using F1/CP
- and multiple bosses. If you only have one boss and are using F1 then
- this box can be checked or unchecked.
-
- Formula-1 can be setup so it sessions at 4/5 ply. CP will update the
- Formula1 Pref file with the correct ply. If type 2+ packet is selected
- for that boss CP will supply 5-ply information. If Type 2 is selected
- CP will supply 2-ply and fakenet information.
-
- o If your boss is a tabby based system DO NOT check Type2+ packets for
- that boss.
-
- o Default Settings (including MODEM strings) are now set for formula-1
- and Zip Extract use. These will need to be changed if you are running
- something other than formula-1
-
- o Minor Fix (not a bug) improvement to the subject window. It now updates
- itself without being placed in the foreground. Fix from Michael Burton.
-
- o Internal Application Compression is now Activated.
-
-
-
- There will be no release of 2.1.1.
-
- o CP 2.2 will be the next release.
- o This version adds the ability to use Type 2+ 0039 and 0048 packet styles.
- o These are set for each specific boss. See Boss Editor.
-
- o This allows for 4-ply packet addressing.
- o Most IBM systems support this.
- o If your boss is a Tabby based system continue to you Type 2 packets.
-
-
- 12/7/92
-
- QWK fixups, this is the final release that will support QWK and Generic Import/Export.
-
-
- 11/28/92
-
- o Added Message forwarding feature. See under Read Menu
- o Add Reply (Status) to Face ICONS. You can start a reply
- by clicking on these as well. If a sound is present and
- sound enabled the sound will play first.
-
- 11/25/92
-
- o Added Command/Shift Key to the save button in the post window.
- This allows you to send a copy of the message to different
- areas. Up to 10 per Clone.
-
- 11/21/92
-
- o Updated Area/Boss/User Editor routines...
- o Added INTL kludge for Netmail to zones other than your own
- o Updated the way CP retrieves the AREA:xxxx Line from PKT's
-
- 11/17/92
-
- o Expanded Modem Setting Dialog
-
- Added: Note: This strings are for CALL/TabbyNet mailer
- engines. Mailer has to be named 'CALL' or
- CP will do nothing but store these in its own
- STR's. Strings are also written to Call Nodes
- file for mailers like TomCat, Formula1 and others
- during a call BOSS operation.
-
- o Modem INIT String (Tabby/Call STR 300)
- Note: Boss INIT string over-rides this STRING
-
- o No Answer Modem String (Tabby/Call STR 301)
- o Reset Modem String (Tabby/Call STR 302)
- o Dial Modem String (Tabby/Call STR 303)
- o Disconnect Modem String (Tabby/Call STR 304)
-
- o To avoid CP from Setting these NULL out the Edit Fields. CP
- will then leave CALL STR's alone...
-
-
- 11/7/92
-
- o Added Detailed Msg Export Log Information (if detialed log is
- enabled).
- o Added Export Status Window...
- CP will now display message info as it builds the the .pkt's
-
- 11/6/92
-
- o Added Extended Keyboard Support to Read/Post Windows
-
- PageUp
- PageDown
- Home
- End
- Insert (if in read window) will start a reply to that message.
-
- 11/5/92
-
- o Fixed a bug that was introduced when I added the uucp postmarks.
- It would cause CP to bomb during an import process.
-
-
- 11/4/92
-
- o Added new default quote field to the Areas menu. If this value is
- 0 Zero CP will nothing. If it is set from one to 5, when you do a
- reply to a message CP will enable this Quote Style and will use it
- to postmark the message using that predefined style.
-
- Area with a 0 Zero as the Area Quote Style will use the default
- or last manual selected Quote Style.
-
-
- o Add UUCP Postmarks...
- See Quote Information....
-
- ^M = Carriage Return (allows for double line postmark formating)
- ^U = Message-ID:
- ^R = Reference:
- ^O = Organization:
- ^N = NewsGroups:
- ^F = From: uucp line (full) jsmith@zapadd.nccx.uice.edu (Jim Smith)
- ^ƒ = From: uucp line (Net ID) jsmith@zapadd.nccx.uice.edu
-
- Note: Under UUCP Information dialog box. You can turn these
- on or off. If you are not receiving UUCP messages then turn
- this off (it will speed up quoting a little since CP does not
- have to search for these).
-
- Note: To use these Postmarks you have to enable Import Kludge
- lines. These references come across as hidden kludge lines from
- some gateways. Unless include kludge lines is enabled CP will
- strip these as they are imported.
-
- Note: If one or more of the postmarks above are not avaialable
- in a message or CP just can not determine what is what CP will
- insert a NULL for the value, when quoting...
-
- Note: if Multi References: are avaialble CP will take only the
- first one.
-
- 10-30-92
-
- o Fixed the Print Driver in CP, it now works with DW 3.1(serial)
- o Beef'ed up the Normal and Quick Print Routines...
-
-
- 10-27-92
-
- o Fixed a _Launch bug, when CP could not find an APPL to lanuch
- it would ask you to find it. Then exit to Finder when you did.
- Note: If you had SubLaunch checked this problem would not
- manifest.
-
-
- 10-25-92
-
- o Added STR 801 Toggle on/off whether you want CP to strip
- @domain from ^N marker when quoting. If @Domain is not
- present in the message CP will ignore the option.
-
- Mike Lininger at 1:226/20.21@Fidonet writes...
- ^^^^^^^^
- If on this would be stripped.
-
-
- 10-20-92
-
- o Fixed cursor bleed thru when CP was in the background doing a
- cleanup or Import or other tasks.
- o Add TAB_to_SPACES user setting. This under the new System
- Settings #2. If this value is 0 CP will import a true ASCII
- 9 character and will treat a Tab key in the edit field as a
- ture ASCII 9 character. If this value is between 1 and 15
- CP will take that ASCII 9 character and will convert it to
- spaces (the number specified by you). This will happen for
- both imports and exports.
-
-
- 10-18-92
-
- ****************
- o IMPORTANT!!!!!!! This version of CP will modify the SIZE of the CP
- Config file on the fly. If CP locks up on you delete the CP Config
- file and relaunch.
-
- o Added a new menu Option under the System Settings.
-
- System Settings Secondary.
-
- This menu option allows you to set more custom CP options. These
- were options added to 2.1 but were placed in STR's. These options
- are now stored in the CP Config file and will be retained between
- updates.
-
- There are a few STR's left. Don't mess with these unless instructed
- by me.
-
- o Added new SEEN-BY Creation (Cope© Style) - See Secondary Settings
- Dialog
-
- o See System Settings #2.TEXT file for more info.
-
-
- 10-16-92

- o Added 5-Ply Addressing to CP Messages. Leave Domain (under Boss)
- blank to continue to use 4-Ply. Domain is not required.
- Note: Session Level. Only Macwoof/Formula1 will session with 4-ply.
- Tabby/Call will only session with 2-Ply?
- Note: Origin Line Text may be truncated so it is less than 80
- characters when Domain is used...
- o Added ^AMSGID: Kludge Line. This comes turned off, but can be
- activated, see Secondary Settings Menu
-
- 10-12-92
-

- (like it use to)

- predefined characters. See Secondary Settings Menu

- for that quote only.
- Command and Shift can be used in combo.
-
-
- 10-10-92

- header of a message, if the message is so marked.
- o 'Private Bit Set' is now displayed to the right of the To:/From:
- header of a message, if that bit was set in the .pkt message
- attribute.
